Lettera inviata da Genova il 15 marzo 1887. Un grave terremoto ha colpito Albissola il 23 febbraio. Vi sono stati alcuni morti e anche la casa di Piccone è stata assai danneggiata. Il vecchio padre per fortuna era a Genova. Piccone dovrà andare sovente ad Albissola a seguire i lavori di riparazione e avrà meno tempo per le sue già gravose occupazioni.
